The Dodge Caravan is probably the longest running models of
minivans currently available. This also makes it probably the most popular
minivans available and has a history of being the perfect soccer moms car. The Caravan
first became popular in 1984 and it is now on its fifth generation which is now
exclusively named the Grand Caravan. Dodge stopped manufacturing the short
wheel base version in 2007 and from 2008 to till date the van features only the
name Grand Caravan.
When I think of Dodge Caravan Canada I think of a van brimming with children which is often the
case. For this reason safety is the major concern. Let's face it I am not only talking
about traction with our tires I am also discussing about braking right mom's.
As all of us know when we've a van brimming with kids we could possibly get
distracted and bad things can happen. We want tires that perform when we want
them to.
So first I would like to cover some basic safety things. Especially on a minivan it is important to get yearly alignments. Vans are considerably heavier than cars and therefore can go out of alignment easier. Being out of alignment can wear tires precipitately as well as cause the vehicle to handle differently. Another thing is worn-out tires. It is imperative that you change the tires in your van before they're completely worn out as you wish to avoid a blowout with a van full of children, also worn out tires don't have the traction you may need when breaking as well as driving in bad conditions. I just wanted to bring up these few stuffs that are very significant.
As far as replacement tires I would recommend something which is
not performance but a little higher quality just about all season type tires.
The tires on a van take many abuses and have to handle well any time cornering
and braking. A superior quality tire for example a Bridgestone or Dunlop is
worth the little extra money eventually. Vans are definitely not speed demons and
do need a performance tires as I previously mentioned, however a reliable
quality tires can be recommended. If you home is where there is snow then a
good aggressive pair of snow tires is additionally recommended. Remember snow
tires are imperative for not merely traction but braking also. A van being too
heavy is more likely to slide on the ice and this means you definitely want
these snow tires for this reason.
